Small Business Server 2000 / 2003 specialist

• Microsoft has looked at the small business market, and come up with a software package called "Microsoft Small Business Server 2003" for companies with up to 75 computers. They have combined many of the programs that large corporations use, rewritten some of the code to make them all work on one server, and put in wizards that make it easy to setup and maintain by a small business person. Then priced this at a fraction of what the large corporations have to pay. This gives the small business the same money making, cost saving, powerful tools that the large corporations have, but at a much lower cost. The package includes Windows 2003 Server for file and printer sharing, Exchange 2003 for e-mail, calendars, and contact sharing, ISA server for Internet sharing and firewall security, SQL 2000 for database usage. They also wrote a custom Fax software package, so you can fax directly out of Word or Excel.
• We take this a step further by installing Outlook Web Access so you can get your e-mail while on the road, and remote desk top services so you can work from home.

Wifi & Ethernet

• Wireless networks are often the most convenient way to connect laptops, desk tops or even printers to a network rather than running ethernet cables through existing buildings or even between offices in separate buildings. Security protocols should always be applied to stop unauthorised access to your network. Our technicians also have past experience in radio communications which can assist in wireless link related problems.

Security

• Automatic software updates and patches design to 'best fit' the multitude of network configurations throughout the world need to be treated with caution. Many patches are designed to lock down and secure general home user network functions and may bring your business network to a complete halt. Many companies are still running old DOS based programs which can be disabled by applying security patches designed to support issues with current software.
• Threats can come from outside your network from Hackers, Viruses and Spyware as well as from within your company, either by deliberate misuse or lack of knowledge in using your network resources.
